Handle With Meekness: Not Every Fault Is Meant for the Internet

Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

To believers who feel compelled to expose a brother or sister all over the internet:

If leadership is already aware of a matter and actively addressing it, publicly exposing them is disorderly and potentially harmful to the Body.

It may feel like defending righteousness, but it can actually hinder their repentance. When someone is already under judgement, being counseled and facing the consequences of their offenses is deeply humbling for many. That process requires space and spiritual support from the Body. The embarrassment and shame faced from public exposure can push a person into isolation rather than toward repentance and true healing.

Let the Most High work on them. If leaders are handling the situation, that’s already a serious call to action for the one who offended. At this point, let them be and support them in prayer.

James 4:11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

James 4:12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?

1 Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
