Choosing Sin Cost Me Peace

John 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

This fight is NOT easy. It’s not as simple as, “Oh, I believe in Christ, so I’m good now.” Absolutely not.

It’s not easy battling temptation. It’s not easy battling the spirits working through people you love. Sometimes you can see clearly how Satan is using a situation or a person against you, but they don’t understand the battle taking place.

It’s not easy falling into sin one night and then waking up the next morning trying to move forward in your walk with God.

I’m sitting here writing this at 2:30am drunk as ever because I fell into sin. Because I backslid. Alcohol is one of my biggest vices, and I hadn’t drank in months until this week because of overwhelming stress and a lot of loss.

You don’t realize how much of a slave sin can make you until it’s time to change.

This walk is not easy. The guilt of grieving the Holy Spirit is not easy to carry. One moment of sin can affect you spiritually more than people realize, so please stay close to Christ.

And if you don’t know Him, please get to know Him.

The state I’m in right now is what happens when you drift away and feed the flesh instead of staying close to God. But even now, I know He is still merciful.

Choose Him, because He is the definition of perfect love. Choosing the flesh will only wound you more.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
